Our therapy centre, run by our psychologist and physiotherapist, caters for all of our children living in Safe homes or in foster care, as well as providing facilities for children in the local community. Every child receives daily therapy with our psychologist, with therapy sessions set according to each individual child’s needs. Therapy is a large part of our children’s recuperation programme, from working through the trauma of being abandoned and institutionalized to rebuilding their lives through life skills and occupational therapy. Speech therapy is available to any child that requires it, as well as signing classes for our children who cannot speak. Play therapy provides a way for our children to express their experiences and feelings through a natural, self- guided, self-healing process. As children’s experiences and knowledge are often communicated through play, it becomes an important vehicle for them to know and accept themselves and others. Our physiotherapist provides daily or weekly physio and occupational therapy. This therapy is dramatically improving the quality of life for each child concerned.
